Jan Van Esbroeck and Jan Vereecke organized the first Night of the Proms in 1985 at Antwerp's Sportpaleis. It was a success, and that success has never stopped. Antwerp remained its home base for all those years, but the festival also toured other countries and remains hugely popular in Germany today.
